Zadie Smith on the heartbreak of climate change

A lovely essay by Zadie Smith that reminds me of Drew Dellinger’s gut-wrenching poem Hieroglyphic Stairway.

“In the end, the only thing that could create the necessary traction in our minds was the intimate loss of the things we loved” like the hedgehogs, the butterflies, the bees, spring, winter, all in their rightful places and times.
