Long walks in the woods with M. Attention to how the dirt yields under my steps, the whiff of decay from accumulating leaves, the splashes of horse chestnuts lobbing themselves into the lake. I revel in my body, appreciating coordination, the ease where pain has been before, grace. In soft focus, on the back burner, there is mulling of inputs, ideas, choices, feelings. Often whole frameworks, structures, arguments, arise while I walk, observe, appreciate and breathe.
The past weeks I’ve been awed–nearly literally brought to my knees by– nature’s textures, colors, arrangements. Gratitude and love in surges. The natural world always has this effect on me, but right now it’s so intense it’s like everything’s vibrating, yearning to be seen for its perfection. I see you. You are gorgeous.
